LeAnn Rimes Checks In To Treatment Facility

LeAnn Rimes is starting off her 30s by voluntarily checking herself into an in-patient treatment facility. A representative for the country star says the 30-day treatment is for anxiety and stress – and not for an eating disorder or substance abuse.

People magazine reports that Rimes checked in to the facility on Wednesday, Aug. 29, the day after her 30th birthday.

“This is just a time for me to emotionally check out for a second and take care of myself and come back in 30 days as the best 30-year-old woman I can be,” Rimes told People.

Rimes doesn’t plan on canceling any of her previously scheduled dates over the next 30 days. Her representative Marcel Pariseau says that the facility has given her permission to play the shows and then “report back after each weekend.”

The dates include shows in Eau Claire, Wis. (Sept. 7); Carmel, Ind. (Sept. 9); Riverside, Calif. (Sept. 21) and Eaton, Colo. (Sept. 22); as well as appearances at Clay County Fair in Spencer, Iowa (Sept. 8) and Oxford County Fair in Maine (Sept. 15).

“While there will be speculation regarding her treatment, she is simply there to learn and develop coping mechanisms,” Pariseau told People magazine. “While privacy isn’t expected, it’s certainly appreciated.”
