Precipitation Pulls Plug On Perry

The show at the Timonium Fairgrounds racetrack was postponed because of heavy rain, then was pulled seven songs into the set when lighting started to flash.
“The Band Perry made every attempt to get the show in. There was a delay waiting until the first storm passed. The band came back and played for approximately 35 minutes while continuing to track the weather,” Maryland State Fairgrounds GM Howard Mosner told the Baltimore Sun. “With the amount of lightning in the area, The Band Perry, the concert manager and the state fair decided for safety reasons that they could not continue to play.”
The trio had not gotten to one of its biggest hits, “If I Die Young,” which upset at least one fan who took her 11-year-old daughter to the show. She noted to a reporter that the carnival rides were still running and the fair remained open – and her phone app showed no storm activity over the fairgrounds.
“We did enjoy seeing what we did see,” she told the Sun. “But we would have been much happier hearing just one song.”
A representative for the band said a show will be rescheduled for 2013, with all tickets honored.
