Raleigh Shed Now Red Hat

North Carolina’s Raleigh Amphitheatre, which opened in 2010, has its first naming sponsor and will be dubbed Red Hat Amphitheatre.

The Raleigh City Council agreed to a $1.2 million agreement with the software company, and Red Hat will have its name on the shed for five years.

The 5,500-capacity facility was almost named Bud Light Amphitheatre but the deal fell through after the Substance Abuse Advisory Commission appealed to the city council that the name could be harmful for people who abuse alcohol and for youth, according to the local NBC affiliate.
