Divine Fits Fall Tour
Divine Fits, which met up for its first practice in November 2011, released its debut album, A Thing Called Divine Fits, last week.
NPR’s Stephen Thompson describes the release as “the work of guys who know exactly what they want from their music: namely, to explore a bit of a new-wave streak while still operating in their wheelhouse of slick, sharp, smart pop-rock.”
Thompson adds, “Comparisons are fair and inevitable, but the album deserves that highest of compliments: For all its familiar components, it sounds like Divine Fits.”
Fans can catch the band’s late-night television debut on Friday on NBC’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
On Sunday the band plays Brooklyn, N.Y., at the Music Hall of Williamsburg. Festival appearances are booked at SoundLand in Nashville Oct. 6 and Treasure Island Music Festival in San Francisco Oct. 14.
