Divine Fits Fall Tour

Spoon’s Britt Daniel, Wolf Parade’s Dan Boeckner and New Bomb Turks’ Sam Brown are taking their new band Divine Fits on the road for its first full scale U.S. tour, officially starting off Oct. 16 in Rhode Island.

Divine Fits, which met up for its first practice in November 2011, released its debut album, A Thing Called Divine Fits, last week.

NPR’s Stephen Thompson describes the release as “the work of guys who know exactly what they want from their music: namely, to explore a bit of a new-wave streak while still operating in their wheelhouse of slick, sharp, smart pop-rock.”

Thompson adds, “Comparisons are fair and inevitable, but the album deserves that highest of compliments: For all its familiar components, it sounds like Divine Fits.”
