Aussie Power Promoters Team Up

Paul Dainty and former Big Day Out co-promoter Vivian Lees announced on Sept. 10 a joint venture company called Two Worlds Touring.

They come together sporadically to work on “select concert and entertainment-related projects.”

The first of these “is almost set to go,” Lees told Pollstar. The pair will continue with their respective companies, Dainty Group and Viv Lees, although Lees is moving his operations into Dainty’s offices in Melbourne.

Dainty’s music tours tend to aim at the superstar league. Recently named by SportsBusiness Magazine as one of the world’s 20 most influential promoters, he is co-promoting the Rolling Stones’ UK and U.S. dates in November.

Lees’ return to concert touring this year, after a 12-month break following his split from Big Day Out, includes dates with Billy Bragg and Primal Scream

He says he’s not interested in running festivals again, calling them “problematic,” but tells Pollstar, “It’s an exciting time to be in the music business right now. Paul and I are always looking around for opportunities.”
