Kanye West, Lou Reed For UR1 Festival
A new festival is coming to downtown Miami in December, “designed with a purpose to unite people as one through Art & Sound – the world as 1.” Kanye West is just the man for the job. Along with the rapper, the first round of acts for UR1 Festival includes Lou Reed and The Offspring.
The festival takes place at Miami’s Bayfront Park Dec. 8-9, the same weekend as the annual Art Basel Miami contemporary art exhibition.
The multi-genre UR1 lineup will feature a total of more than 100 live acts and DJ’s with “six areas of sound.” So far, the fest has also confirmed Keane, fun., Santigold, Erick Morillo, Sven Vath, Pete Tong and Bob Sinclar. A post on the festival’s Facebook page says that “more BIG talent” is yet to be announced.
As for the art, you can expect a “360 degree art experience” with more than 30 site-specific artwork installations.

Tickets go on sale Sept. 13. A portion of ticket proceeds will be donated to Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Florida.
