‘Gangnam Style’ In New York City

Now that Psy has taught Britney Spears and Ellen DeGeneres how to do the wacky dance in his hit “Gangnam Style” video, the South Korean rapper’s next stop is New York City on Friday for a free show.

Friday’s performance takes place outside of the “Today” studio at 49th Street and Rockefeller Center as part of the Toyota Concert Series on “Today.” The show is open to the general public and does not require a fan pass. Access to the show is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Spears and her fellow “X-Factor” judge Simon Cowell appeared on the “Ellen DeGeneres Show” this morning, where they discussed the “Gangnam Style” video and were surprised by a visit from Psy. Cowell, who admitted the video was “brilliant,” chose to sit out the dance lesson.

Here are some tips from Psy: The mind state of this dance is dress classy and dance cheesy. And bounce like you’re riding an invisible horse.

Last week Psy posted a video on his YouTube channel titled “Public Announcement – Scooter Braun Regarding Psy.” In the video Braun, who manages Justin Bieber, is shown toasting Psy and saying, “We’ve come to an agreement to make some history together and be the first Korean artist to break a big record in the United States.”

As of this afternoon, the video for “Gangnam Style” has been seen more than 146 million times.
