Ticketfly Steps Into SoCal

Independent social ticketing platform Ticketfly is making strides in SoCal. The company has inked deals with 30 new clients around Los Angeles, representing a 400 percent increase in its customer base in the region. Venue signings include Echo/EchoPlexTroubadour, The Fold, Bootleg Theater and The Satellite, among others.

New promoters are FYF Presents and its FYF Fest, Spaceland Productions and Guerilla Union, which handles the SmokeOut, Rock The Bells and the Paid Dues festivals.

Concerts aren’t the company’s only focus at this point, however. Ticketfly’s also dipped its toe into sports, signing the Los Angeles Blues Soccer Club, Pali Blues Soccer Club and the World Dodgeball Society, renaissance faires and arts and theatre groups.

Ticketfly Chief Marketing Officer Gannon Hall chalked up some of the new deals to “reserved seating capabilities,” which the company only recently began offering, but also noted clients have been responding well to the efficiency of the platform.

“We really provide the ticketing and marketing tools that, given their integrated nature … greatly increase operational efficiencies for these promoters and these venues, saving them a lot of time in the day-to-day marketing operations of their business,” he told Pollstar

And Ticketfly’s social aspects are apparently paying off as well.

“When we look at data from our system, year-over-year sales growth for our clients [from 2010 to 2011] was on average about 16 percent. The industry average was only about 3 percent for that same period,” he said. “We’re beating the industry. Clients that are switching from a previous platform to Ticketfly are seeing double-digit sales growth in most cases. There’s definitely kind of proof at this point to the ability of our system to drive ticket sales.”
