Yum! Center Might Need More

The Louisville Arena Authority has given notice it may need a larger contribution from the city to the KFC Yum! Center.

The authority, which will receive $6.5 million from the city, approved a request for up to $3.3 million more by next spring for the building’s debt payments.

The authority reportedly took the action in part because it hasn’t determined how much money will be available for payments due next December.

Arena officials are weighing selling a package of securities that could bring in as much as $7 million and avoid using more of the city’s pledge.
