Aaron Gomes, vice president of operations at Atlantic City’s
He takes over from acting MD Craig Peachey as its parent Echo Entertainment launches an A$625 million renovation of the venue. After stints at MGM Resorts in Las Vegas and Indiana Live Casino outside of Indianapolis, Gomes, 30, took over running the Resorts after the sudden death in February of his high-profile father, Dennis.
Gomes was asked to stay after Resorts co-owner Morris Bailey recently brought in the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority to take over operations alongside Mohegan Sun casino-resorts in Connecticut and Pennsylvania.
But Gomes felt that after the deaths of his father and his brother Douglas last year, the move to Australia “will not only help my career but will also help me tremendously in the emotional healing process.”
He reports to Echo’s managing director, Larry Mullin, who ran Borgata Hotel Casino in Atlantic City.
