Bananarama’s Pinktober Tour

Bananarama’s next U.S. excursion is extra special because in addition to touring under the Pinktober banner as part of Hard Rock International’s annual cancer awareness campaign, the October dates celebrate the pop band’s 30th anniversary.

The Pinktober tour will raise awareness and funds for the cause by playing select Hard Rock locations from coast to coast. The cafés will be decked out with plenty of pink to mark National Breast Cancer Awareness month with non-alcoholic “pink” drinks and “pink” menu offerings as well as Pinktober merch.

Proceeds from the sale of Pinktober products (such as the 2012 T-shirt, bracelet, robe, pin and more) will benefit The Breast Cancer Research Foundation and The Caron Keating Foundation (U.K.).

“Everyone knows someone whose life has been affected by breast cancer,” Bananarama’s Sara Dallin said. “So when Hard Rock offered us the opportunity to take part in Pinktober and support a great cause in a fun way, we jumped at the chance.”

Her bandmate Keren Woodward added, “We cannot wait to get our Hard Rock tour started and spread the Pinktober message of awareness and hope to all our amazing fans.”

Bananarama, which performed at the 2009 Pinktober Women of Rock Charity Concert in London, will be sure to play their hit singles such as “Venus,” “Cruel Summer” and “I Heard a Rumor.”
