Fleming’s Aussie Office Expands

Fleming Artists’ Aussie office celebrates its first year in operation by adding a new staffer and adding five more acts to make its roster an even dozen.

Jono Barwick joins Fleming after seven years at high-profile independent label MGM.

Veteran booker and agent John Sinclair, who heads the Melbourne-based office, told Pollstar all his new acts “are stylistically different but have one thing in common, and that is they are compelling live.

“Australia is poised for a live boom it experienced in the late ’70s,” he added, a time that yielded major acts Icehouse, The Divinyls, Midnight Oil, The Angels and Cold Chisel.

Two of the roster, Graveyard Train and Daniel Champagne, have played the U.S. and Europe, and will spend a considerable time through 2013 working the U.S. market.
