Fiona Apple Arrested
Authorities at the border checkpoint near Sierra Blanca, Texas, strike again. Fiona Apple’s tour was interrupted Wednesday when she was arrested for hash possession.
TMZ.com (of course) got the scoop on the story and posted a copy of her mug shot online. The photo shows the singer with her eyes closed and a solemn look on her face, standing just a few centimeters above the 5-foot mark on the height chart.
According to the gossip site, after Apple’s tour bus was stopped for inspection authorities found hash (described as “a strong form of cannabis”). She was also reportedly in possession “of a small amount of weed.”
The initial report from TMZ stated that Apple was being held at the Hudspeth County Jail.

Apple was stopped in Sierra Blanca after playing a gig in Mesa, Ariz., on Tuesday. Her next show is scheduled tonight in Austin, Texas, at the Austin City Limits Live At Moody Theater.
Sierra Blanca Sheriff’s office spokesman Rusty Flemming told the Associated Press Apple spent the night at Hudspeth County jail and would be bonded out Thursday.
