Their First EDM Conference

Sydney will host the Asia-Pacific’s first conference dedicated to electronic music Nov. 27-28.

The event, to feature global artists, managers, promoters and media, will feature panels and keynote interviews to discuss the Australian dance music industry.

Called the Electronic Music Conference, it is part of the Australian Recording Industry Association’s plan to expand its flagship ARIA awards to a week-long celebration of Australian music through conferences, master classes, parties and showcases.

“Australia has been one of the world’s leading dance music markets for over a decade, with more than 750,000 Australians visiting dance festivals each year,” said Neil Ackland, CEO of youth publisher Sound Alliance organizing the conference.  “Our artists are achieving great success on a global stage. Our festivals are breaking new ground. Our industry is not just respected, it is envied the world over, and we believe it’s time Australia had a conference that matched our global status and ambition.”
