CNTRL: Beyond EDM Tour
The mission behind the excursion is to bring “the history and the future of the platform to the very people who could well be the next generation of producers, DJs, technology innovators or simply advocates of the sound that is sweeping the continent.”
The CNTRL: Beyond EDM Tour is scheduled Oct. 29 through Nov. 18.
Presented by Dupspot, the daytime seminars will take place between 5-7 p.m. and focus on technology, music production, live performance and the business of electronic music. The tour will feature special guest speakers in each city including Tiga and John Acquaviva. Topics include Hawtin speaking about technology to control creativity, Dice discussing old-school DJ-ing with modern technology, Hawtin’s sound technician Johannes Kramer lecturing on the importance of sound quality, and controller specialist DJ TechTools’ Ean Golden on digital DJ-ing and controllerism. There will also be time for a Q&A with CNTRL artists and special guest speakers.
Hawtin is scheduled to take the stage at the evening shows every night. Loco Dice will be there for all gigs with the exception of Nov. 15-18. Carl Craig, Seth Troxler, Kevin Saunderson, Josh Wink, Victor Calderone, Paco Osuna and Ean Golden appear on select dates.
