Prince’s Welcome 2 Australia show was named best international contemporary concert at the Helpmann Awards, Sept. 24 at the Sydney Opera House. 

The tour, by Van Egmond Group and Chugg Entertainment, beat contenders Foo Fighters, Roger Waters and Sade. 

 
Kylie Minogue’s Kylie Aphrodite Les Folies Tour 2011 tour (Frontier Touring Company) won best Australian contemporary concert. 
 
The avant-garde MONA FOMA, curated by Violent Femmes’ Brian Ritchie, won best contemporary music festival. 
 
The awards, in their 12th year, are produced by peak association Live Performance Australia. 
 
The night paid tribute to late indigenous singer Dr Jimmy Little for his contribution to the live scene.
