Foo Fighters Taking A Break?

Dave Grohl said he didn’t want to make a big deal about this, but of course the media was going to anyway. During Saturday’s Global Citizen Festival in NYC’s Central Park, the Foo Fighters frontman implied that the band might take a hiatus from touring.

Grohl made the comments to the crowd at the free concert before the band performed “Learn To Fly.”

“I wish we could play all night. You know what I mean? But I’d rather see Neil Young. Without making a big deal out of it, we don’t have any shows after this. This is it, man. We don’t have any ones after this.

“This is the show where we come out and we play as many songs that we can in the short period of time because honestly I don’t know when we’re going to do it again. And this is the perfect place to do it right now tonight.”

In addition to the Foo Fighters and Young, the Global Citizen Festival included The Black Keys, K’nann, John Legend and Band Of Horses. The event, which was scheduled around the meeting of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, used social media and free tickets to the festival to raise awareness about global poverty-related issues.

The Huffington Post points out that Grohl brought up the idea of a hiatus in August while on stage at Reading Festival in England. After saying the gig was “the last for a long time,” he later tweeted to clarify that the Internet should relax because he was “only talking TO England!! About England.”
