TM Flunks
Satisfaction Survey

When it comes to consumer satisfaction, there are the Zappos, REIs and Costcos of the world, and then there are all the other guys.

A recent Consumer Reports survey of readers ranked, on a 100-point scale, how well 52 online retailers provide the buying public with quality and value, make shopping and shipping a breeze and offer solid customer support.

At the upper end of the spectrum, Zappos came in third among readers, with 90 points. Ticketing companies including Stubhub and TM didn’t fare as well.

StubHub, which earned 82 out of 100 points, scored low for value and shipping and was 38th on the list.

But it was Ticketmaster that took home the honor of lowest score on the list, earning 74 points and poor marks in the value, navigation, checkout, shipping and customer support categories.

Tony Hseih, CEO of Zappos, spoke at Pollstar Live! in 2010 to talk about customer service. Looks like it may have been worth taking notes.
