Flavor Flav Arrested For Assault

Flavor Flav is in trouble with the law again. The rapper/reality TV star was arrested early this morning in Las Vegas on charges including felony assault with a deadly weapon. The alleged victims are the 53-year-old’s fiancée and teenage son.

A statement from Las Vegas police says that police received a call from a woman before dawn saying “she had been involved in a physical altercation with her fiancé, who was identified as William Drayton,” according to Reuters. William Drayton Jr., is of course the Public Enemy rapper’s legal name.

He is also accused of threatening his fiancé’s teenage son with a knife.

According to the Associated Press, which points out that “patrol officers did not report that anyone was injured,” jail records say that Drayton faces a felony assault with a deadly weapon charge and a misdemeanor battery-domestic violence charge. The felony charge comes with a possible penalty of up to six years in prison and the misdemeanor charge could get the “Flavor Of Love” star six months in county jail.

Police say the alleged incident occurred at a home several miles away from the Las Vegas Strip.

After being taken into custody around 3:30 a.m., Drayton was being held on $23,000 bail at Clark County jail. He’s due to make an initial court appearance on Thursday.

The rapper was arrested in Las Vegas last year on outstanding unpaid traffic warrants. Drayton’s criminal history also includes time behind bars for assaulting his then-girlfriend in 1991 and shooting at a neighbor in 1993.
