Glastonbury’s Emily Eavis Talks Stones Rumors
When the U.K.’s The Sun reported last week that Glastonbury Festival founder/co-organizer Michael Eavis was “desperate” to book The Rolling Stones in 2013, the publication’s only proof was an unnamed source.

Since then Keith Richards has weighed in on the idea of playing the Pilton, England, festival, telling BBC 6 Music, “On a good day if the weather’s fine, that’s an interesting proposition. … I think that the band wants to get these four gigs under their belt and then think about next year after that. But anything’s possible with this band, you know.”

Now Glastonbury co-organizer Emily Eavis is saying that the fest isn’t ruling out the possibility.

“We’d obviously like that to happen, we’ve always been quite open about that, whether or not it does, I cannot say,” Eavis told NME.

“I could not tell you now whether it’s going to happen. But we would love it to happen next year, we feel like if it’s going to happen, it’s got to happen next year. So, you know, we’d love for it to happen, so we’ll try our best – I’ll let you know how we get on.”

Guess we’ll just have to keep waiting to see what happens. 

The Thin White Duke In NYC
News flash! David Bowie recently made an appearance in New York City. No, this wasn’t an appearance for a concert or some other type of promotional event. The English rocker, who lives in Lower Manhattan, was simply picking up some food to go from NYC’s Italian Bottega Falai Café.

The Telegraph reported the big news about the rare sighting, noting that the once stylish star was wearing plain ol’ jeans, a gray cap and a hoodie. The U.K. publication also took the opportunity to note that the Thin White Duke was looking pale, saying his “appearance reignites health fears” and rumors about his health “have been circulating ever since his ill fated 2004 tour.”

During the tour Bowie cut a show short because he thought he had a pinched a nerve in his shoulder. It was actually a clogged coronary artery and he was forced to undergo heart surgery.

Grim News For Grimes Fans
Experimental/synthpop musician Claire Boucher, who is otherwise known as Grimes, called off her weekend shows in Canada earlier this week, blaming the cancellation on health issues and loud music.

“Hey guys, so sorry 4 the cancelled shows,” Grimes tweeted Tuesday. “im having trouble w hearing loss, tinnitus & am trying 2 stay away from loud music 4 a bit”

Grimes added that she would “try 2 get back 2 Canada asap.”

The canceled dates were scheduled Oct. 19 in Calgary, Alberta; Oct. 20 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; and Oct. 21 in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

A post on her Facebook page said refunds are available from the point of purchase and tickets purchased via Northern Tickets would be automatically refunded.

Despite the hearing issues, Grimes didn’t cancel her show in Vancouver, British Columbia, Wednesday. Her next show is scheduled Monday, Oct. 22 in Minneapolis at the Varsity Theater.
