The latest rumblings from The Rolling Stones has Keith Richards talking about his destiny, Ronnie Wood saying he’d pay top price to see the band and Mick Jagger saying he wanted to call the band’s upcoming dates in New Jersey and England “F**k Off.”

At this time The Rolling Stones have four shows on the books in celebration of the band’s 50th anniversary: The O2 – London Nov. 25 & 29 and Newark, N.J., at the Prudential Center Dec. 13 & 15.

Although the band is rehearsing for those gigs, that doesn’t mean members don’t have time for the press. The latest batch of Rolling Stones quotes come from RollingStone.com.

Jagger on celebrating the band’s 50th anniversary: “I wanted to call the tour ‘Fuck Off’ but no one went for that.”

Richards on his purpose in life: “To keep a band together this long, let alone a rock ’n’ roll band, is probably unique in musical history. After all, that’s what I was born for: to make musical history.”

Wood on those $800-plus tickets (including fees): “As Keith said, ‘Sounds about right. I’d pay it! We already spent, like, a million rehearsing, and we’re not even halfway through. And the stage is going to cost millions and millions.”

And if you’re wondering about the dustup between Richards and Jagger regarding the former’s autobiography and his remarks about The Rolling Stones frontman, it appears that’s all behind them.

Or so says Jagger: “He did apologize, to my face. So you have to put all that sort of stuff away. Water under the bridge, really. Hopefully, you know, we can carry on working.

As to a tour, well, Richards has a few words of hope: “My experience with The Rolling Stones is that once the juggernaut starts rolling, it ain’t gonna stop. So without sort of saying definitely yes – yeah. We ain’t doing all this for four gigs.”

The article also says former Rolling Stones members Bill Wyman and Mick Taylor will probably appear on the four upcoming gigs. With the last show being a pay-per-view, Wood is hinting that they might be joined by Eric Clapton and/or Jeff Beck.
