If ever the old show biz cliché about “acts not needing introductions” ever applied, it would be to this tour. Deep Purple, with its rock legacy featuring songs such as “Hush,” “My Woman From Tokyo” and, of course, “Smoke On The Water,” will share headlining status with that lil’ ol’ San Francisco Bay-area band known as Journey, propagators of such classic rock staples as “Lovin’ Touchin’ Squeezin’,” “Wheel In The Sky,” “Who’s Crying Now,” and the always popular for all occasions “Don’t Stop Believin’.”

“To have two of the world’s greatest ever rock bands on stage together is something we’re so proud to be involved in,” said Chugg Entertainment head honcho Michael Chugg. “These shows are going to tear the house down.”

Here’s the routing:

Feb. 24 – Auckland, New Zealand, Vector Arena
Feb. 26 – Boondall, Australia, Brisbane Entertainment Centre
March 1 – Melbourne, Australia, Rod Laver Arena
March 2 – Darling Harbour, Australia, Sydney Entertainment Centre
