Laneway Announces
New Singapore Venue
Returning to Singapore for the third time, Australia’s Laneway Festival announced a larger venue for its Jan. 26 show.
After drawing 7,800 people to Fort Canning Park this year, promoters Laneway Singapore and Chugg Entertainment
Asia moved it to the Meadow at Gardens by the Bay for 2013.
The flower bowl shaped venue can accommodate 30,000. Acts include Gotye, Kimbra, Alt-J, Yeasayer, Kings Of Convenience, Australia’s Tame Impala, pop chanteuse Bat For Lashes, Iceland’s Of Monsters And Men, and Canada’s Japandroids.
One of the first Australian festivals to push into Asia, Laneway also takes in Auckland, New Zealand Jan. 28, and Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth Feb. 1-9.
