Morrissey’s Rescheduled U.S. Dates
Somewhere, probably in an alternate universe, Morrissey’s tours go off without a hitch. He never gets sick, never collapses on stage and rarely postpones shows because of plumbing problems.
But that’s in that mythical dimension known as the Land of Moz. Here in our own version of reality, Morrissey’s concert schedules have been known to suffer more than occasional interruptions.
Consider Morrissey’s 2012 U.S. tour, for example. Originally scheduled for fall, the first indication things might not go as planned was in late October when the singer rushed home to be with his mother who was hospitalized in England, forcing him to postpone stops in Pittsburgh, Columbus, Ohio, Flint, Mich., and Chicago. Four days after announcing the original postponements, Morrissey announced he was postponing the tour.
Now we have a brand new, 32-city trek from Morrissey including a date at Los Angeles’ Staples Center that will include special guest Patti Smith and her band.
The revised tour also includes Morrissey’s first time playing the Brooklyn Academy Of Music.
