Matisyahu’s Acoustic Winter

Not only will Matisyahu unplug when he goes on tour in January and February, but the alternative/reggae man will give fans an in-depth look at his creation process and even answer questions posed by audience members. Stops include Pittsburgh, Louisville, Asbury Park and San Francisco.

The “Acoustic Evening With Matisyahu” tour will give fans an even more intimate look at the artist who’s already known for his pre-show gatherings and social networking. During a 2009 interview with Pollstar, Matisyahu talked about his passion for Twitter and how it enabled him to communicate directly to his fan base, especially while on tour.

“I would say something like, ‘I have a day off. I’m in El Paso, Texas, at the Holiday Inn. Come see whassup?’” Matisyahu told Pollstar.

“I didn’t realize there were like five Holiday Inns in El Paso. But there were around 10 or 15 kids driving around to every Holiday Inn. They found me. I had my barbecue set up. We hung out. I gave them tickets to the next night. They came to the show and one of them brought me this beautiful picture of a sunset in El Paso. I shouted out at them at the show.”

Coinciding with the tour is the release of Spark Seeker: The Acoustic EP, set to drop Jan. 15 via digital retailers with Amazon offering a five-track package and iTunes delivering a seven-track download. In addition to the EP, Matisyahu will be releasing acoustic bonus tracks via his website.
