Rock-It Moves Itself

Making something of a change from transporting other people’s gear around the world, one of the latest jobs for UK global logistics expert Rock-It Cargo is to shift its own offices to new premises on the edge of London’s Heathrow Airport.

The new Rock-It HQ comes with a much larger onsite cargo facility, in the shape of more than 50,000 square feet of modern airport warehousing. It also has two floors of office space for the company’s growing team of freight forwarders.

The new home is at the Hatton Cross Centre on the airport’s Eastern Perimeter Road, and within an easy walk of the nearby Hatton Cross tube station.

The company, which has 23 offices spread across the globe and more than 200 people on the payroll, is celebrating its 35th year in the business.

From the company’s roots providing logistics for rock tours, Rock-it Cargo now handles freight forwarding for a range of industries including sports, film production, corporate and live events, industrial, government, fairs and exhibitions, theatre and orchestras.

It’s maintained its core business within the live music industry and is currently working with acts including Roger Waters, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Jack White, The Who, Paul McCartney, Muse, Mumford & Sons, and Bob Dylan.

“[We’ve] been growing steadily over the past ten years, and the new facilities will allow us to bring our clients an even higher quality of service while leaving room for greater expansion in the years to come,” said Rock-It managing director Chris Wright.
