Bieber Booed At Halftime Show

Justin Bieber may hail from the Great White North, but that doesn’t mean he’s a superstar in the eyes of all his countrymen.

A recent performance during Canada’s version of the Super Bowl was met with a round of jeers from a raucous crowd at the Rogers Centre in Toronto.

Fans apparently started booing after the Bieb, who was booked for the halftime show of the Canadian Football League’s Grey Cup, was shown on the Jumbotron.

And the noise didn’t stop when he took the stage. When he told members of the crowd to “make some noise,” they reportedly obliged with more boos.

Still, a review by the Toronto Star noted Bieber “sounded terrific” and put on an energetic set, telling the crowd it was an honor to play the Grey Cup.

Fans took to Twitter in his defense following the performance.

“Justin Bieber booed at the Grey Cup?” one wrote. “He’s the biggest act in the world and he’s Canadian. More class needed, eh?”
