The Stones Invite Eric Clapton To London

What are The Rolling Stones going to do to follow-up Sunday night’s gig featuring special guests Jeff Beck and Mary J. Blige? The band has confirmed tabloid reports saying that Eric Clapton will take the stage at tomorrow’s show in London. And that’s not all.

The second of the Stones’ two nights at The O2 will also feature Florence + The Machine singer Florence Welch.

U.K. tabloid The Mirror claims that Welch will duet with Mick Jagger on the classic Stones tune “Gimme Shelter.” Blige teamed up with Jagger for the song during the first London show.

The Nov. 25 gig lasted more than two hours and featured nearly two dozen songs including classics like “Brown Sugar,” “Get Off Of My Cloud” and “Midnight Rambler” in addition to the brand new “Doom And Gloom” and “One More Shot.”

The 50 and Counting tour heads across the Atlantic in December to continue celebrating the Stones’ 50th anniversary with three dates in the states. First up is Barclays Center in Brooklyn Dec. 8, followed by Dec. 13 & 15 in Newark, N.J., at the Prudential Center.
