Three-Year Coldplay Break?

At the end of Coldplay’s Australian tour at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium Nov. 21, singer Chris Martin announced, “This is the last big show for three years or so. I don’t want to stop.”

There was no immediate confirmation from the band’s record label or management.

The British band is to play Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut Dec. 29 and Brooklyn’s Barclays Center Dec. 30-31.

The Suncorp show was hailed the best stadium show in Brisbane, gaining 40 percent of the vote in an online poll by the Brisbane Courier Mail.

Twenty percent of 1,000 respondents chose U2 (who played the city in 1993, 1996, 2006 and 2010) and 10 percent went for AC/DC’s show in 2010 at ANZ Stadium.
