Big Gigantic’s Big 2013 Plans

Saxophonist/producer Dominic Lalli and drummer Jeremy Salken are loading up their 2013 schedule with headline gigs throughout the U.S. The 24-date routing includes stops in New York City, Atlanta, Philadelphia and Houston.

Big Gigantic closes out 2012 with appearances at “BassLights” (with Pretty Lights and Bassnectar) in Hampton, Va., at the Hampton Coliseum Dec. 28, Snowglobe Music Festival in Lake Tahoe, Calif., at the Lake Tahoe Community College Dec. 29 and a New Year’s Eve show at Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom.

The duo kicks off the new year at sea by playing both Holy Ship! Jan. 4-7 and Jam Cruise Jan. 7-12.

With a blend of live instruments along with the DJ production you’d expect at a typical electronic show, some might call Big Gigantic a “livetronica” act. Whatever you want to call this group, one thing for sure is the guys put on a great live show.

Techibeats.com writes, “Once their set started, Big G did not slow down; They brought the funk, the soul, the groove and whatever other adjective you could think of that simply means, they were phenomenal.”

The 2013 headline tour begins Jan. 29 in Birmingham, Ala., and runs through March 3 in Oklahoma City.
