The Falcona and Select Music agencies teamed up to set up The Essential Agency (TEA) to book celebrity DJ sets and after-party gigs for Australian and overseas non-DJ names.

It comes just as Arrested Development‘s Speech and Radiohead‘s Thom Yorke played blinder DJ sets in Sydney after huge concerts with their bands.

TEA’s Stephen Wade and Chris Murray say it’s a new idea in Australia, although it’s popular abroad. It also makes some extra money for the acts.

TEA is not competing with established professional DJ agencies.
