Crackdown On 150 Sydney Venues

Venues in Sydney’s red-light Kings Cross area are feeling the heat following the public outcry over the death of a teenager in July.

Thomas Kelly was killed during an unprovoked bashing by a drunken thug.

The New South Wales government has introduced a range of new rules to combat violence in the area.

Up to 150 licensed venues cannot serve strong spirits, must not serve alcohol in glasses after midnight, and must use ID scanners to keep out troublemakers who were evicted from other clubs that night.
