SMG Taps Carr For Oncenter

SMG announced Kelly Carr as GM of The Oncenter in Syracuse, N.Y. He was most recently director of sales and marketing for the Albuquerque Convention Center.

SMG assumed managerial responsibility July 1 for The Oncenter, which includes the 7,000-seat War Memorial Arena, John H. Mulroy Civic Center Theatres and Nicholas J. Pirro Convention Center.

“Kelly’s personal expertise, combined with SMG’s booking network, client base and other resources, will undoubtedly propel The Oncenter to greater prominence and success,” said SMG Senior VP for convention center operations Bob McClintock.

Before Albuquerque, Carr was at SMG-managed Fresno Convention & Entertainment Center in central California.
