Coupe de Villes Gear Stolen
The well-traveled R&B group Coupe de Villes is the latest victim of gear theft, after discovering its equipment trailer was stolen in Rochester, N.Y., earlier this month.
These things are always tough on bands, but it’s especially so in this case. “I lost my 14-year-old son in 1985,” drummer George DeMotte told WHEC-TV. “He had a little blue bunny in his crib. I’ve always had that on my drums. It’s been on my drums for 35 years. It’s really hard to deal with that. I don’t have that anymore.”
The trailer also contained sound and light systems, and guitar amps. Band members say their cry for help has been shared at least 500 times on Facebook, and fans are scouring pawn shops to find the equipment. Meanwhile, the Coupe de Villes have replacement equipment.
