Changes: The Killers & Tegan And Sara

Brandon Flowers is suffering from more health issues that are affecting his voice – and his band’s tour plans. After a sore throat forced The Killers to postpone two U.K. dates last month, now the frontman is sick with laryngitis.

This means that The Killers are calling off more dates. Shows scheduled for tonight (Dec. 14) at New York City’s Madison Square Garden and Saturday (Dec. 15) at Toronto’s Air Canada Center have both been postponed. Last night’s show in Camden, N.J., was canceled.

A post on The Killers’ website says a new NYC date is expected to be set soon. A new Toronto date will be announced in the coming weeks.

Fans are encouraged to hold on to their tickets for the future dates. Refunds are also available at point of purchase.

Tegan and Sara were supposed to support The Killers at all three of the gigs. An announcement from the twins says that they will “likely NOT be able to join them for any of the rescheduled dates (tbd).” On the bright side (no pun intended), the duo has added a last minute show in Toronto – tomorrow (Dec. 15) at the Phoenix Concert Theatre. Tickets are on sale now.

The Killers’ next scheduled show is Dec. 17 at Boston’s Agganis Arena. Tegan and Sara are scheduled to open for the Las Vegas-based rock band Dec. 17-18 and Dec. 20-21.

“We wish them a speedy recovery,” the twins said in a statement. “We have no news about any of the Killers’ dates beyond Toronto. As soon as we have news we will inform you.”
