Cavaliers Sign Disabled Access Deal

The Cleveland Cavaliers have signed an agreement with federal prosecutors aimed at making Quicken Loans Arena more accommodating to fans with disabilities.

The Cavaliers agreed to continue making available 110 wheelchair spaces at arena events, unchanged from the current offering and exceeding federal requirements.

The deal was struck Dec. 13 after a fan complained around disabled seating availability.

The Cavs also agreed to train box-office employees on making sure fans using wheelchairs are treated fairly.

To accommodate deaf fans, the Cavs will post public-address system emergency announcements on scoreboards and video monitors and consider posting additional information.
