Patti Page Dies

Patti Page, 85, one of the most successful female recording artists in history, died in Encinitas, Calif., Jan. 1. Page is expected to be honored with a lifetime achievement award at the Grammys in February.

Page was known for “The Tennessee Waltz” and “(How Much Is That) Doggie In The Window.” She sold more than 100 million records during her career. Page, real name Clara Ann Fowler, was a resident of the Seacrest Village nursing home in Encinitas but was a longtime resident of nearby Rancho Santa Fe.
