Shapiro Makes Capitol Purchase

Promoter Peter Shapiro has made things official with The Capitol Theatre  where he spent more than $2 million on renovations and signed a long-term lease in 2011.

Shapiro is now the owner of the Port Chester, N.Y., venue, following an $11.5 million agreement with previous owner Marvin Ravikoff, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The 85-year-old theatre is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and boasts a 65-foot domed ceiling with medallions, columns and an arch over the stage.
