The Black Keys + Flaming Lips Dates

The blues rock duo is teaming up with the psychedelic rockers for a handful of dates in the U.S. in late April and early May. The Black Keys are headlining with The Flaming Lips listed as the special guest on all four gigs.

The outing marks the first U.S. appearances booked for The Black Keys in 2013. The band winded down 2012 by playing the special guest role for The Rolling Stones in Newark, N.J., in mid-December, followed by two New Year’s Eve headline shows in Las Vegas.

Before joining forces with The Lips, The Black Keys will take the stage at Lollapalooza Brazil in San Paulo March 30.

Here are The Black Keys/Flaming Lips dates:

April 28 – Kansas City, Mo., Sprint Center
April 30 – Pittsburgh, Pa., Consol Energy Center
May 2 – Atlanta, Ga., Aaron’s Amphitheatre At Lakewood
May 3 – Nashville, Tenn., Bridgestone Arena

Fortunately, Wayne Coyne will be able to use his giant laser hands for the shows if he gets the urge. After being stolen at Australia’s Southbound Festival on Friday, the monster-sized props were recovered over the weekend.

Tickets for The Black Keys/Flaming Lips dates go on sale to the public Jan. 11. A presale for Nashville begins Jan. 10.
