Performers Announced For The Grammys & Inauguration Day
The 55th Grammy Awards will take place Feb. 10 at Los Angeles’ Staples Center. LL Cool J will once again be your host for the evening.
So far, performers include Fun., Mumford & Sons and Rihanna. Each of the performers are vying for awards themselves. Fun. and Mumford & Sons each have six nominations. The Black Keys are up for five awards. Rihanna and Taylor Swift each have three nods.
Additional performers and presenters, along with special segments will be announced soon.
As for the Inauguration Day, we’ve got a few more acts to talk about besides Beyoncé.
Scheduled for Jan. 21, the inauguration is held at the West Front of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.
After serenading the President and First Lady Michelle Obama with Etta James’ “At Last” during their first dance at 2009’s Neighborhood Inaugural Ball, Beyoncé will sing for the Obamas once more.
The Presidential Inaugural Committee told People that Beyoncé will perform the National Anthem at the public swearing-in ceremony. Kelly Clarkson will be there to sing “My Country ‘Tis of Thee” and James Taylor will give his rendition of “American The Beautiful.”
Civil rights activist and journalist Myrlie Evers-Williams will give the invocation and Reverend Louie Giglio has the honor of delivering the benediction.
People reports that the Presidential Inaugural Committee plans to release more information about the ceremony’s participants soon.
