Arena improvements are being designed to complement the under-construction, $585 million Music City Center scheduled to open in May and are said to account for about $7 million of the funding.
The project, part of a plan to expand the entertainment district, includes a new south entrance to the arena, a plaza area and glass in place of concrete in certain sections of the building, according to the Tennessean.
The Metropolitan City Council is scheduled to vote on the plan Jan. 15. The Metro Nashville Sports Authority would also have to approve the project, the paper said.
