Former Promoter Honored

Warren Barker, one-time convener of the Southern Alps Country Music festival, was awarded the Queen’s Service Medal for services to the community in the New Zealand 2013 New Year Honor’s List.

A volunteer to various associations since he was 13, Barker convened the Southern Alps Country Music awards 2001 to 2011.
He also started the entertainment awards for the Geraldine Lions Club and booked acts for the Caroline Bay Association’s annual carnival.
