Kylie Leaves Manager
It is believed that after spending 2012 on various projects commemorating her 25 years in music, the London-based Australian singer wanted to concentrate on acting for the next few years.
Minogue’s label, Parlophone Records, is on the trading block and she might want to see the dust settle before she returns to the studio.
According to the UK press, Minogue’s future career direction caused tension between Blamey and her accountant father, Ron Minogue.
The decision is said to be amicable and made by Minogue in September to become effective Jan. 1.
Blamey was running PACE Agency for developing acts in Melbourne, as part of Michael Gudinski’s empire, when 19-year old soap actress Minogue was signed to Gudinski’s Mushroom Records in 1987.
Her massive fan base in Australia and the UK from the “Neighbours” sitcom helped launch her singing career in these territories initially.
With Blamey at the helm, she went on to sell 65 million records and won an Order of the British Empire for services to music.
