Justin Timberlake Bringing Live Shows Back

We’ve got good news and bad news for Justin Timberlake fans. First up, the good news. Following the release of his new single “Suit & Tie” last week, the singer has booked his first concert in years.

Timberlake is playing DIRECTV’s “Super Saturday Night” Feb. 2 at New Orleans’ SuperFan stadium. Co-hosted by Mark Cuban’s AXS TV, the show features The Roots’ Questlove as the DJ both before and after the performance.

Now for the bad news. You can’t buy tickets because this is a private, invitation-only event to benefit Shriners Hospitals For Children. Timberlake has previously been involved with other benefits for Shriners Hospital over the years.

An announcement from DIRECTV points out that “websites offering tickets for sale are fraudulent and those tickets will not be accepted as a valid form of admission.”

“Super Saturday Night” takes place after the seventh annual DIRECTV Celebrity Beach Bowl at SuperFan Stadium. The public is invited to the event, which features celebrities taking on former NFL stars in a flag football game. Snoop Dogg (aka Snoop Lion) is competing, along with a group of actors including Chace Crawford, Josh Hutcherson, and Nina Dobrev, as well as Sports Illustrated Swimsuit models, comedian Artie Lange and Olympian Lolo Jones.

Another recently announced event leading up to the big game is the Feb. 2 Super Bowl XLVII CMT Crossroads concert at New Orleans’ Sugar Mill, featuring Journey and Rascal Flatts.

According to postings on the bands’ websites, “fans can register to be a part of CMT Crossroads as NFL Insiders at www.1iota.com.”

Tune in to CMT at 11 p.m. Feb. 2 to see the Crossroad concert’s broadcast.

Super Bowl XLVII is scheduled the next day at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.

Alicia Keys is singing the national anthem before the game. Beyoncé is headlining the halftime show and rumor has it the other two members of Destiny’s Child will be there too.
