EMI Australia Chief Leaves Post
EMI Music Australasia’s chairman and senior vice president of marketing, Mark Poston, has stepped down.
EMI executives report to Universal Music Australasia president George Ash until a replacement is found. After joining EMI in 2000, Poston worked in Sydney and London. He persuaded the Australasian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) to introduce a Club chart and signed up independent labels to expand A&R.
Last year he teamed with Future Music Festival to sign electro acts. His She Can Dj initiative to unearth female club DJs and producers was adopted by EMI offices in Europe and will roll out in the U.S. this year.
