She & Him will be touring in support of their new album, Volume 3, the follow-up to their very successful 2010 release, appropriately titled Volume 2. Featuring 11 tunes written by Deschanel plus three covers, the disc was produced by Ward and recorded in Los Angeles, Portland, Ore., and New York City.

She & Him were joined by a few guests on the album, including NRBQ’s Joey Spampinato,Mike Watt, Tilly And the Wall, Rilo Kiley’s Pierre de Reeder and Tom Hagerman from Devotchka.  Volume 3 drops May 7 on Merge Records.

Oh, and the next time you watch Deschanel’s TV show, “New Girl,” look  for scenes when she’s not on camera. It’s been reported that she wrote the songs during “small pockets of downtime” while filming the Fox Television sitcom.
