Odds & Ends: Jay-Z + Timberlake, Bonnaroo & More
Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake are reportedly teaming up together for a summer tour, Brian Wilson reveals his thoughts on another Beach Boys reunion, and Bonnaroo makes another announcement about announcing its lineup.
At the time of this post, details about the rumored Jay-Z/Timberlake tour hadn’t been made official yet. Here’s the story so far.
Timberlake, whose performance at the Grammys included a cameo from Jay-Z, apparently told at least one reporter on the red carpet that fans would be seeing the two stars on stage together again soon.

The New York Post reports that Timberlake said, “We’re definitely going to go on tour . . . I don’t know how much I should say . . . It’s going to be a lot of fun, I know that.” According to the Post’s sources, the “we” in question is J.T. and Beyoncé’s husband.
Rolling Stone has its sources too, reporting that “while talks are still ongoing, the tour as currently planned would include 11 to 13 stadium dates.” RS points out that Timberlake’s official Twitter page tweeted over the weekend “big news coming after Justin’s Grammys performance.” So, we’ll have to wait and see.
As for another Beach Boys reunion tour with Brian Wilson, Al Jardine and David Marks? There’s no need to analyze rumors and reports from unnamed sources. Wilson can tell you for himself.

After the brouhaha following the conclusion of the official 50th anniversary tour and Mike Love’s return to touring with his own band as “The Beach Boys” (without his cousin and the rest of the gang), you might not be surprised by Wilson’s answer.
“No, I don’t think so. Doubt it,” Wilson said on Sunday in the press room at Grammys, according to Rolling Stone.
Bonnaroo organizers still aren’t ready to name names. Late last month the festival enlisted “Weird Al” Yankovic to post a video on its official YouTube page telling fans that he would be announcing the 2013 lineup live on YouTube.
Now, we’ve got another video from Weird Al, proclaming exactly when he’ll be making the big announcement.
“Internet friends, I have important news,” Al said. “I will be announcing this year’s Bonnaroo lineup live on YouTube in a special one-hour announcement celebration on Feb. 19. And I’m led to believe it’s going to be awesome.”

The 2013 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival is set for June 13-16 near Manchester, Tenn.
BBC News reports that The Dave Clark Five bassist Rick Huxley died Feb. 11. He was 72.
Band leader Dave Clark said Huxley’s death was a shock, explaining, “I spoke to Rick on Friday, he was in great spirits.” Although Huxley had been diagnosed with emphysema Clark told the BBC News the bassist had recently been given a clean bill of health.
Huxley joined the English pop rock group in 1958 and was a part of its lineup up until the band broke up in 1970. The Dave Clark Five was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 2008.
