2 Chainz Arrested

Maryland state troopers arrested rapper 2 Chainz Feb. 14 for allegedly possessing drug paraphernalia and pot just prior to a local university homecoming performance.

The performer, whose real name is Tauheed Epps, was scheduled to do a concert at University of Maryland Eastern Shore prior to state troopers stopping the van he was in for speeding at about 9:15 p.m near Eaton, Md.

Officers allegedly smelled burnt marijuana in the van and found a backpack with a marijuana grinder and trace amounts of the drug.

Epps claimed the backpack was his and was arrested and cited before being released, according to a police report. The concert went on as scheduled.

He faces up to one year in jail and up to a $1,000 fine.
