That the Capitol Theatre is a part of Grateful Dead history is no secret to the band’s fans. From 1970 through ’71 the band performed at the venue 18 times.  Plus, at one time Jerry Garcia famously endorsed the building, saying “There’s only two theatres … that are set up pretty groovy all around for music – the Fillmore East and the Capitol Theatre.”

Last year Phil Lesh & Friends played several sold-out shows at the Capitol. The venue also hosted 1,000 fans for an evening called “A Dose Of The Dead” which featured an unreleased recording of the band in concert presented on the theatre’s state-of-the-art sound system.

Dates for Furthur at the Capitol Theatre are April 16-17, 19-21 & 23-25.  Tickets go on sale today.  Visit Furthur.net for more information.
